Ranthambore Fort is an impressive fort and display historical developments of Rajasthan. It is situated near Sawai-Madhopur town in Rajasthan.
It is surrounded within the famous Ranthambore National Park which was formerly the hunting grounds for the Maharajas of Jaipur before Indian independence.

The fort is huge and covers approximately 7.5 kms area in circumference.
The interiors of the fort are good but not maintained like other forts in Rajasthan (e.g.- Forts in Jaipur).

It is one of the oldest forts in country and is built in 944 AD by a Chauhan warriors.
The entire fort is has beautiful temples and also a mosque. The most famous of these being the temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is said that devotees actually send letters to God at this temple, which are brought up daily by postman.
The Ranthambore Fort is located at the top of a rocky hill in the middle of the forest.
