This weekend some of my friends planned to visit Lotus Temple which is located at Nehru Place, Delhi. I was not doing much at the same time and decided to go with them... We visited Lotus Temple and Iscon Temple because both these places are near by Nehru Place...

The Baha'i House of Worship in Delhi which is popularly known as the Lotus Temple due to its flower like shape, is a Bahai House of Worship and also a prominent attraction in Delhi. It was completed in 1986 and serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent. It has won numerous architectural awards and been featured in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles.
Sun behind Lotus Temple throwing nice colors in the sky... I love this combo of Orange and Blue.. Although its hard to find these colors in Delhi but I was fortunate enough to catch it in my Camera :-)

The temple is shaped in the form of a half opened Lotus Flower and the main structure encircled by nine ponds. There are nine doors that lead to the central hall. Number nine is considered sacred in Bahai faith which depicts all the major nine faiths of the World. The central hall suggests that all nine religions are dedicated to the sole God. This central hall can manage 2500 people at a time.
