Mobile Clicks of IPL Match between Delhi DareDevils and Chennai Super Kings on 19th March 2010 @ Firoz Shah Kotla, Delhi, INDIA
I don't follow cricket and but know few players who have big name in the world of Cricket. On Friday we had an office outing to Firoz Shah Kotla to watch IPL Match between Delhi DareDevils and Chennai SuperKings...
Cameras were not allowed inside the stadium :( But I managed with my Nokia Phone :)

Ground looked very small as I entered into the stadium.I had an image of a huge ground in my mind but that was not true. Some of my colleagues had same opinion. One of my friend was saying that I can also hit a 6 in this ground :)
Match had to start at 4PM and we reached around 2:30pm. We grabbed front seats and spent 1.5 hrs in sharp sunlight... Overall environment on ground was very DESI and doesn't seem like a place where international players are going to play... Chilchilati Dhoop, Punjabi Jaane, DJ-bakvaas and all... but we were enjoying it :)

I assume this was IPL arrangement and the song they were playing were very biased. Most of the viewers may ignore because they were cheering for Delhi but I personally didn't like it...

Its sunset time now and Chennai Team has started batting... I loved Hayden's 6s and that made this experience a memorable one.... Amazing play by Hayden... Initially people were hesitating to appreciate his 6s but his bat made all to cheer in the end... I liked it :)

I have no photograph with Cheer Leaders on Ground but I really appreciate their work... Its very difficult to synchronize with stupid & random music by DJ and good time managed performances after each 4, 6 or Wicket...

This Stadium was originally a fortress built by Sultan Ferozshah Tughlaq to house his version of Delhi city called Ferozabad. A pristine polished sandstone pillar from the 3rd century B.C. rises from the palace's crumbling remains, one of many pillars left by the Mauryan emperor Ashoka; it was moved from Punjab and re-erected in its current location in 1356.
The Feroz Shah Kotla was established as a cricket ground in 1883. The first test match at this venue was played on November 10, 1948 when India took on the West Indies. Anil Kumble took 10 wickets in an inning on this ground in 1999, only the second time this feat has been achieved in test cricket. It is owned and operated by the DDCA (Delhi District Cricket Association). Since 2008 the stadium has been the home venue of the Delhi DareDevils of the Indian Premier League.
On 27th December 2009, an ODI match between India and Sri Lanka called off because pitch conditions were classed as unfit to host a match. The ICC is currently conducting an investigation, and a possible sanction could include the Feroz Shah Kotla being rejected as a venue for the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
OVERALL IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE TO WATCH CRICKET ON GROUND...
