Mandi district (earlier known as Mandavya Nagar) is the central district of Himachal Pradesh state in northern India. There is also a town called Mandi which has a distinguished history and interesting architecture. It is also called "chotta Kashi" as there are many ancient temples in the city and on the banks of river Beas. The river Beas flows through the city and hills, which makes the city more scenic. It is also an important transportation and business hub for the state and adjoining towns. Sundarnagar is one of the emerging towns of this district. Mandi has a highly educated middle class and people speak a dialect of Pahari called Mandyali... I am also a Mandyal btw...
