Kandraur Bridge is built across the Satluj river. Height of Kandraur brige is 80 meters while the length of Kandraur bridge is 280 meters, located in Bilaspur district in Himachal Pradesh.
Kandraur Bridge is one of the highest bridge in the world. Kandraur bridge is ranked as first in Asia according to its height . It's surrounded by limestone rocks & pieces of these rocks float across the Satluj river. Kandraur Bridge allow two way traffic on it. Density of water in the Satluj river is maximum in the summer due to melting of glaciers in Himalayas.
There is heavy traffic of Cement loaded trucks as we cross Bilaspur Town... Himachal has some big cement production plants by Jaypee, Ambuja and ACC...
National Highway 21 links the Union territory Chandigarh with the hill station of Manali in Himachal. This 325 km long road spans across Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh
Road is well maintained and natural beauty across the lane makes the journey wornderful... Sometimes it may be painful due to very slow movement of loaded trucks on this road...

Bilaspur was the capital of a state founded in the 7th century and known as Kehlur after its earlier capital or as Bilaspur after its later capital. The ruling dynasty were Chandela Rajputs who claimed descent from the rulers of Chanderi in present-day Madhya Pradesh. The town of Bilaspur was founded in 1663. The state later became a princely state of British India and was under the authority of the British province of Punjab.
Hills have started disappearing now and it indicates that we are going to cross Himachal Border for entering Punjab....

In Himachal Pradesh National Highway 21 continues its way through towns of Bilaspur, Mandi, Aut, Kullu and Katrain, before terminating at Manali. Govind Sagar Lake, Bhuntar and Nagar are some of the tourist spots on or near the highway. The National Highway 21 has a total length of 235 km in Himachal Pradesh.
