Himachal Pradesh is one of the states in northern India where total population lives in the villages. In fact the state has one of the highest percentages of rural population. The villagers of the state love to live in peace, tranquility and are very helpful to each other.

This particular house was Aishwrya's house :)  I am sure you will be able to recall if you remember the scene where Aishwarya was training village girls...The educational status of the villages of Himachal Pradesh is very impressive. The highest literacy rates in these villages are quite high. The children in the villages get their first lessons from the government primary schools and then go on to pursue higher education in the colleges and universities established in the urban areas of the state. Though the educational status is impressive, the governmental authorities of the state are continuously taking various initiatives to further improve the status...Education has always been top area of investment every year which is a great thing in my opinion... Current Education Minister Mr. I.D.Dhiman has done a lot of work in this area but now commercialization of education has started affecting this in Himachal... Will stop here.. otherwise I will start writing about commercialization of education in Himachal :) Typical house of Himachali Villager... These are single storey, but normal trend is to have double storey home like this... In a particular village, internal architecture and design of these houses is similar. When I asked my father about the reason, he told me that in past there used to be one priest in a village who used to work as consultant for everyone while designing a house. He used to adjust different rooms as per VASTU, if its followed properly a village can't have houses with different layouts...The Economic, Educational and Industrial strength of the state largely depends on the villages of Himachal Pradesh. They are also the center of the state's cultural and traditional activities... people in the villages are keen on preserving their rich heritage intact.A village in the center of Agriculture land around...Agriculture is the principal occupation of a majority of people in the villages of Himachal Pradesh. Most of the state is mostly hilly and hence the type of cultivation is terraced. A majority of the villagers fall in the category of small and marginal farmers. Horticulture and vegetable cultivation is a major part of agricultural activities in the state. The major crops cultivated in the villages of Himachal Pradesh include wheat, maize, paddy, gram, sugarcane, mustard, potato, vegetables, barley, beans, etc.
