But along with all this, rain also brings waterlogging and traffic jams in metropoliton cities such as Delhi. But in spite of all that, it is a welcome visitor. And this year, monsoon has been very generous. We had all forgotten what monsoon really means. This year it refreshed all memories...Walking through muddy roads is a challenge, especially when you are wearing flip-flops. And during rainy season, everyone get psyched enough to fold up the trouser legs even when there is no water around. It becomes more like a habit.Some images brought back memories of my childhood.Being splattered with muddy water by a rogue car is a very common tale of misery one comes across during this season of fun and mischief. With several pock-marked roads, driving through the city was a major challenge this season. One advise here is that it is best to avoid water on the sides of the road as you never know what lies beneath that deceptively placid surface.I don't know about other cities but this was a common site in Delhi. Yamuna has been flowing above the danger mark since the last 5 days and the water from the river also spilled over near ISBT.Half an hour worth of rain was enough to cause jams that lasted for hours. The drainage system completely went for a toss.But still, all of us love rains and a dry monsoon means soaring tempers, mounting irritation and silent hopelessness. So God, please give us decent amount of rains year after year.
