I have spent one day in Kalka Shimla Toy train and few days back I had chance to travele in Pathankot-Jogindernagar Toy Train... Here are few photographs of that journey...
Pathankot-Jogindernagar Toy Train crossing a bridge near Kangra....
The distance of Pathankot from Kangra is 96 kilometers and Jogindar Nagar from Kangra is 69 kilometers... This toy train takes more time than normal plain area time as it travels at very low speed and as it is a single line so train stops to give passage to trains from other direction. The train passes through valleys, rivers, many beautiful towns and towards the last stretch of the journey having clear view to snow covered Dhauladhar mountain ranges...
Narrow track for Pathankot-Jogindernagar Toy Train...
As the train moves upward and this journey becomes more scenic with a distance view of snow capped Dhauladhar mountains..... Rivers become narrower with deep blue water and the train starts taking curves on hieghts... There are few tunnels in this track in comparison to Kalka-Shimla route...
Railway Track near Aehju which is a small railway station near to Bir Billing...
More details about trains on this route are available @ http://www.himachalpradesh.us/himachal/himachal_train2.php : I recommend reconfirming these details from IRCTC always... I have seen changes in schedule many times....
Railway junction to give pass for other trains coming from other direction... Its single lane and narrow-gauge track...
This is of course a different experience as compared to other journeys in Toy-Trains... If I compare it with Shimla Toy Train, chances of view to snow capped hills is less in case of Kalka-Shimla Toy Train... On this route there are some beautiful tea-gardens... On the other side Shimla-Kalka toy trains passes through various tunnels which is altogether a different experience...
Toy Train passing through Pine Forests...
