Since trees will not be there on these heights, there will be no space to escape if rains start... Here is a again a view of valley in the bottom of two hills with tents... Many of the pilgrims were looking back after some time... clouds were becoming more dense as we moved ahead...Other worry was the path... since it was soil and stones... after rains it becomes risky to walk over them... If you are first time trekkking on hills, its important to have nice shoes with appropriate grip and have to have pateince to walk on the a balanced pace to avoid any mishappening... Don't worry, I was getting more sensitive about it.. Plan better and its very easy :-)Here is an amazing this... See this path started form hill on right side and moved towards the another hill on left which is just opposite to the first one... But everyone had to cross through the same route, because the riverlets you see in the middle had very fast current... which is not very clear in this photographs.. but if you compare the size of tents and width of this strea, you would be able to estimate it... This whole path from one hill to another was around 4-6 kms....Here comes the next level of tis trek with more rocky hills around and less grass.. Indicating that oxygen level is going down now.... Helicopter ride to Mani Mahesh Lake in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, INDIA : Posted by Vishal Sharma on www.travellingcamera.com : The name Manimahesh signifies a jewel (Mani) on Lord Shiva's (Mahesh'es) crown.... Local people claim that the moon-rays reflected from the jewel can be seen from Manimahesh Lake on clear full-moon nights (which is a rare occasion)... It is more likely to be the light reflected from the glacier , like a serpent on Shiva's neck...The Helicopter flies from Bharmour Helipad or Chamba depending upon the reservation you have... and then reaches up to Gauri Kund... From Gauri Kund onwards you have to continue next 1 km on foot and then after Darshan you will have to came back to catch the flight from Gauri Kund to Bharmour Helipad/Chamba... The both way Ticket for Manimahesh Yatra is also available with us. The both way ticket will cost you 8600.00 INR per passenger from Bharmour to Gauri Kund and 14500.00 INR from Chamba to Gourikund up and Down...The route to Manimahesh is via Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, Bharmour and Hadsar. Motorable road goes till Hadsar. The rest of the path is to be covered on foot, about 13 km of steep climb by the banks of Manimahesh Ganga, which originates from the Manimahesh Kailash peak. During the annual pilgrimage in August - September, numerous night-shelters and eateries spring up by the trekking route. Night-shelter is also available at village Dhancho, about 6 km from Hadsar on the way to Manimahesh, round the year. Another less frequented trekking route originates from Holi, which is connected to Chamba...Helicopter flying in Pir Panjal Moutain ranges of Himalyas...Helipad @ Gauri Kund, Manimahesh, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh...Manimahesh Lake (also known as Dal Lake, Manimahesh), situated in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, is a high altitude lake (el. 4080 m.). The Manimahesh Kailash peak that stands high close to the lake is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva... Waterfalls on the way to Mani Mahesh Lake : Posted by Vishal Sharma on www.travellingcamera.com : A long trek through Pir Panjal mountain range of Himalyas : PART-1 : Himachal Pradesh is home to many historical and religious sites.... and also known as State of GODs... The state boasts of several exciting pilgrimage trails leading to sacred temples... The Manimahesh Yatra is one such pilgrimage which starts from Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Chamba and ends at the Manimahesh Lake in Bundhil valley... Here are some PHOTOGRAPHS of Waterfalls on the way to Manimahesh : MANIMAHESH YATRA 2010There are countless number of waterfalls on the way and water in all of the streams in considered very medicinal... I met a gentleman who told that some medicinal plants of Himalayas are found in this region and water is very good for skin, breathing and other things which I forgot :)The Manimahesh Lake is believed to be one of the abode of Lord Shiva as per the Hindu mythologies... Notice pilgrims in colorful dresses in this photograph and try to think about the height of this waterfall... Last time I had such huge waterfalls on Shrikhand Trek ...The pilgrims walk along the rocky path completely bare footed, singing Bhajans and praying ecstatically to Lord Shiva... After reaching Mani-Mahesh Lake they take dips in the holy water. With the termination of the Manimahesh Yatra, the devotees visit the ancient temple of Chatrari, which is located between Bharmaur and Chamba...Some of us tried to climb up these hills on with these water streams but its near to impossible to complete with these streams...The wonderful route not only attract the pilgrims but also excites the adventure lovers and tourists...Freshness flowing through heavy rocks @ Manimahesh, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, INDIAWalking to the way of the Manimahesh Lake is a wonderful experience... One will forget the pains of the tiresome journey watching the wonderful natural scenery and fresh environment around.... However one should be physically fit to endure this journey in an altitude of 4100 meters.... The Manimahesh Yatra in Himachal Pradesh is treated as a state level fair as per the declaration of the Himachal Pradesh State Government. The Himachal tourism department has undertaken various plans and programs to promote this wonderful event... Manimahesh is well approached from Pathankot through Chamba and Bharnaur... Pathankot is nearest railway station to approach this place... Freshness flowing through heavy rocks @ Manimahesh, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, INDIAWalking to the way of the Manimahesh Lake is a wonderful experience... Have a look and enjoy... Pilgrims having rest near freshening waterfalls... I guess water of this fall was touching their body at this place... Manimahesh is considered as very important yatra and I know many of neighbors in Ghumarwin who have visited Manimahesh in last few years.. and many of them go there every year or alternate year... These are few waterfalls which could be seen from the trekking paths to Manimahesh... We had brought binoculars and could see lot many waterfalls on very high mountains of Himalayas... and its very difficult for me to describe those... Huge in size and powerful in throw of water...Here is another waterfall.. I guess it was near to Bheem Dwari and we had snacks near this, while climbing up... I don't know how to define these water streams which have multiple falls and some small streams flowing calmly towards the final destination.... but they were more attractive... How a waterfall looks has very big role of the hill from where its originating and overall shape of that hill... Also nicly composed hills give more beautiful view to these falls :-) .. Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
