Wonderful stay at Sarahan Village of Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh (During MTB Himachal 2010) - PART-2
Hope you knwo about this series of Photographs which shows the journey in Himalayas during MTB Himachal 2010... During this trip we visited a village called Sarahan in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh.... I had already shared few photographs of this village @ http://phototravelings.blogspot.com/2010/12/wondeful-stay-at-sarahan-village-of.html ... Check out more photographs of Kullu Sarahan Village...
Here is a photographs clicked inside the village and showing a typical style of the houses inside this himlayan village... Its evening time and last few rays of sunlight touching the roof-top of these souses ...
One sweet girl looking at us and wondering why these people are roaming here & there in my village... What all want to do with these photographs.. anyway, she was happy to pose for a photograph :)
Here is a photograph of a common activity of a villager in Sarahan.. To cut and bring various crops to home and apart from that grass for cattle is a common activity of their daily life....
Store of dry grass inside Sarahan Village... During monsoons, everyone store grass for winters and summers when its rare to find appropriate quantity of grass for cattle... A frame is created for the base so that some space is left between the ground level and grass... Because rain-water may destroy all this.... Slanting shape is given to this, so that rain-water goes down directly....
Shining crops around the village... There were lot of fields around the village where villagers wok throughout the day for better crops of the season...
A Huge gallery outside one house and some wooden pieces inside it... I am not sure if LPG was available in that village or not, but most of the times they bring tree branches from forest to cook their food in traditional chulhas...
Smoke of these CHULHAs coming out... Although this smoke is harmful for their health but sometimes all this prevent them from various diseases...
Before going inside the village, I was dreaming of a house there but after entering into the village I was able to relate to difficulties they face because of various things like, connectivity, weather, availability of daily-use stuff.... But no doubt that place was like heaven in the Dev-Bhoomi Himachal Pradesh !!
