The word Taal is used for lakes and that's why all the places in India having lakes are named with 'Taal' in the end... NaianiTAAL, NaukuchiaTAAL, SaatTAAL, BheemTAAL etc.. Especially in Uttrakhand state of Himachal Pradesh Taal is used with most of the main hill stations having lakes... Nainitaal is one of the main tourist place in Uttrakhand but now people like to go to less crowded places and Naukuchiataal is one of the tourist attraction in Uttrakhand due to comparatively less commercialization there... Here are few photographs of the Taal (Lake) in Naukuchiataal... Check Out !!!
When we talk about the tourist places with lakes, how can we miss boating... In Naukuchiataal, there were lot of colorful boats to provide various rides to tourists... Apart from the ones you see in above photograph, there are other options like boats with pedals and kayaking etc... I had heard of many other water sports but couldn't see more than this.. The resort where we stayed had organized boating tour for us and it was good ... This lake is certainly different from others and surrounded by tree on one side and road on other part of it...
Here is a view of Naukuchiataal Lake from Lake Resort which is located on the other side of this lake... There were very bright colors around this place and sunlight in hills is incomparable... Color of water is much brighter than the sky and tree around it make the place more beautiful !!!
Two of my friends enjoying Kayaking at Naukuchiataal Lake..
There are enough resorts and hotels in Naukuchiataal ... with good facilities for tourists... when we went for the morning during second day, we came across lot of guest-houses, resorts and cottages in the surroundings of Naukuchiataal Lake..
Few old boats sitting on the other side of this lake... or probably not functioning during off season at Naukuchiataal..
A view to Lake in Naukuchiataal from surrounding hills... We also climbed to one of the hills in the surrounding of this lake and me few villagers there...
This lake is a body of still fresh or salt water in some ratio which is in a basin that is surrounded by land. Initially it was not very populated and now people from big cities have started buying land around it to construct houses/cottages etc...
