Banerghatta National Park is one of the main attraction in Banglore city and it was our first choice in the list of all the places we wanted to visit in Banglore... After reaching the place and having one round of wildlife sactuary, it was was marked as a successful visit and worth spending half day including Butterfly house and Zoo... Check some of the photographs with some details....
It was an amazing experience to see lot of white tiger raoming around us... Actually Banerghatta is not like Jim Corbett, Ranthambore or many of other national parks where wild animals are allowed to roam in any part of the sacnyuary. Banerghatta has some dedicated sections for each type of wild animal and many times these animals can be caught around the roads because of good network of roads inside...
After 15 minutes drive from office we reached Banerghatta National Park and here is open parking of Banerghtta.. Its just behind the Bus Stand for this place... After parking the car here we ealized that its a popular place among young couples of Banglore :) just like Lodhi Garden in Delhi... Never mind, we can understand the fact about scarcity of space in these bug cities...
After parking the car we took the short cut through bus station of Banerghatta National Park... Here is a photograph of Banerghatta National Park Bus-Station.... Two kinds of buses connect this place from city... AC Buses and the ordinary ones... AC buses have also very nominal tickets and people prefer to have them here and there is good frequesncy of AC buses to Banerghatta National Park...
There is a small market just outside Banerghatta National Park and Zoo... After looking at this market its looks like some fair where everyone is very excited and want to have some adventure in life... Children playing around, adults having some fun in the gardens and elders buying some stuff for home or something to eat... Here is a photograph of Banglore wheel :)
Next step was to find out ticket counter and here is one hoarding showing ticket rates for various things... There is a Zoo, A butterfly park, Wildlife safari and Elephant Ride... Various combinations have different tickets... For more details check out the pohotograph above...
After having two tickets for Wildlife safari and Banerghatta Zoo, we went to the main gain for taking the bus for wildlife ride into the Banerghatta National Park... They have some closed buses which take all the tourists to Banerghatta Nationa Park and stop wherever they see something... Drivers and a guide, who are main decision makers for stopping the bus and for how much time, were very rude initially but after some chit-chat they started stopping bus as per our choice... n of-course, this service wa not free...
Here is Karnataka Tourism bus which tok us inside the Banerghatta National Park in Banglore.... We left it near Butterfly Park which is very near to Exit of wildlife boundaries...
We were sitting on the front seat and here is a photograph of a dry area inside Banerghatta National Park on driver-side..
I have been to ariska, Jim Corbett and Ranthambore many times but never saw tiger there.. Banerghatta National Park is the firstwildlife sanctuary where I saw tigers first time... It was not the only tiger we saw.. There were lot many ...
Lion pugs playing with each other... There was a beautiful section fo lions and they were having fun on the side of a water stream inside Banerghatta National Park... Children in our bus were very happy at this place and they didn't want to move ahead from that place... Driver took them at same place while returning back...
Spotted Dear in Banerghatta National Park, Banglore...
India has over 550+ animal sanctuaries which are referred to as Wildlife Sanctuaries... Among these 28 are Tiger Reserves which are governed by Project Tiger and are of special significance in the conservation of the tigers in india... These day many organizations are doing various events to make people aware of the fact that total count of tigers in india is going down and we should be sensitive about it... Some wildlife sanctuaries are specifically named Bird Sanctuary, eg. Keoladeo National Park before attained National Park status... Many National Parks were initially Wildlife Sanctuaries...
