The Gateshead Millenium Bridge was opened for public in 2001 and is a pedestrian and cyclist's bridge across the river Tyne. It connects the city of Newcastle to Gateshead. It is also known as the Winking Eye bridge because of its shape. At night, it is a spectacular sight as it changes colors and is visible from a distance along the lighted quayside. It is also the only Titling structure in the world.

Me on the Pedestrian walkway. The lights of the city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne are visible in the background.
Some beautiful buildings at the Gateshead Quayside, which in Tony Blair's opinion is the best Quay in the whole of Europe. The picture just above this caption is a bit blurred. There was a beautiful reflection of snowflakes on the building. In the absence of a tripod, this was the best pic I could manage.
The Millenium bridge in Rainbow colours.
Sujata with the Tyne Bridge, the High level bridge and the Swing bridge visible in the background.
A Fish-n-Chips on Newcastle Quayside. Thats a big fish they have here...
