Kamru Nag is in Mandi district and if one starts from Mandi town, Sundernagar would be the next place at a distance of about 24 Kms. And from there Karsog road needs to be followed. The trek would start from Rohanda that is about 50 Kms from Sundernagar. During the trek from Rohanda to kamru Nag, one can have amazing panoramic views of the valley.
Being a very famous tourist attraction, the lake in front of this temple is also of religious importance as the Kamrunag Temple is situated on the banks of the lake and the Kamrunag religious fair is held every year around this lake...

Kamru Nag was son of Gathochgach (Son of Bheem and Hadimba). He always helped the one who is loosing and that's why during Mahabharat he was going to help Kauravs. When Krishna saw him, he wanted to test his powers. Krishna soon realized that he is strong enough and asked for his head as dakshina. He said he will only give if they hang his head on such height from where he can still see Mahabharat. That's why his head was hanged here. Pandavs later came to make temple for him here but he denied and they threw away all gold in this pound. No one tries to take gold out of here, one British guy tried one but he got terribly sick and got fine only when he went home..
