After walking around the Castle Keep, I realized that I was just a few feet away from the High-Level Bridge. The bridge like any other bridge on Newcastle Quayside, connects Newcastle-Upon-Tyne to Gateshead. I couldn't resist and I decided to walk all the way to Gateshead.
The entrance to the pedestrian walk on the High-Leve Bridge. Buses run in the middle. The bridge is fragile so traffic is restricted.
The view on the left when walking from Newcastle to Gateshead. You can see the Millenium Bridge far in the distance and then the Magnificient Tyne Bridge and then nearest is the Swing bridge.
A view of the buildings on the Newcastle Quayside. I love the colors of the buildings. They aren't candy colored as some of the buildings on the seaside but these colors suit the character of the city.

By now I am almost in the centre of the bridge. It was already 5:15 and I was running out of time for my adventures. So was now in a hurry to get to the other end.

And now into Gateshead. The picture is just a proof of my expedition.
Note the parking on the side of the streets. I think this practice makes the roads narrower than they already are.
And now on the other side of the bridge. Headed back to Newcastle.

Tyne is a huge river. Near my office it isn't as broad as it is near the bridges.
The other side of the Newcastle Skyline. A lot of construction is in progress in the city. In fact, the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is in middle of a makeover right now.
It was a fine walk and required some daring since the bridge was more or less deserted. I am glad that I did this however. Every since I first saw the High-Level bridge, I had wanted to walk on it. So it is a mission accomplished.
