Let's go to Yellowstone National Park and Rushmore Mountains in USA !!!

This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains...

This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Most of the places visited during this trip were really beautiful and we didn't want to come back to concrete cities !!!Now the question is whose idea it was to go to such an unheard place. Going to Yellow stone was my husband’s idea and my daughter studied about Rushmore mountains in her summer camp last year, so I was interested to go to that place that my baby knows about.We started at 8.30 am on 25th June 2011 from our house in Charlotte,NC. Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. As it has very new features like 'back gear video in the front mirror'.Bison graze near a hot spring ...The American bison (Bison bison), also commonly known as the American buffalo, is a North American species of bison that once roamed the grasslands of North America in massive herds.Yellowstone National Park was actually established by the U.S. Congress and it's a national park located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, although it also extends into Montana and Idaho. Native Americans have lived in the Yellowstone region for at least 11000 years. The region was bypassed during the Lewis and Clark Expedition in the early 19th century. The caldera is considered an active volcano. It has erupted with tremendous force several times in the last two million years. Half of the world's geothermal features are in Yellowstone, fueled by this ongoing volcanism. Lava flows and rocks from volcanic eruptions cover most of the land area of Yellowstone. The park is the centerpiece of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, the largest remaining, nearly intact ecosystem in the Earth's northern temperate zone.Approximately 96 % of the land area of Yellowstone National Park is located within the state of Wyoming. The record high temperature was 37 °C in 2002, while the coldest temperature recorded is −54 °C in 1933...Beehive Geyser Erupting !!!Beehive Geyser is a geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park in the United States. Eruptions of Beehive Geyser last about 5 minutes and are 200 feet high. The fountain maintains its full height for the duration of the eruption, dropping just slightly near the end. A roaring steam phase concludes the eruption and can be heard a quarter-mile away.Old Faithful Geyser erupts approximately every 91 minutes.Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Wyoming, in Yellowstone National Park in the United States. The geyser, as well as the nearby Old Faithful Inn, is part of the Old Faithful Historic District.Over 1650 species of trees and other vascular plants are native to the park. Another 180 species are considered to be exotic species and are non-native.Wildfire is a natural part of most ecosystems, and plants found in Yellowstone have adapted in a variety of ways. Douglas-fir has a thick bark which protects the inner section of the tree from most fires...Cute baby excited about unimaginable beauty of this place... She really loved the place as expressions saying it correctly !!!Yellowstone Lake is the largest body of water in Yellowstone National Park, The lake is approximately 8000 feet above sea level and covers approximately 130 square miles... It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is dominant.Hundreds of species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles have been documented, including several that are either endangered or threatened. The vast forests and grasslands also include unique species of plants. Yellowstone Park is the largest and most famous megafauna location in the Continental United States. Grizzly Bears, wolves, and free-ranging herds of bison and elk live in the park. The Yellowstone Park Bison Herd is the oldest and largest public bison herd in the United States. Forest fires occur in the park each year; in the large forest fires of 1988, nearly one third of the park burnt. Yellowstone has numerous recreational opportunities, including hiking, camping, boating, fishing and sightseeing.Yellowstone National Park approximately spans an area of 3400 square miles comprising lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges. Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest high-altitude lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest super-volcano on the continent.Isn't it WOW? Or do I need to describe this photograph as well !!!My daughter was amazed with that feature of the car. She was really impressed with the car. And my travel from airport to lodge passed in explaining the funda behind rental car and hotels to my daughter.Appropriate information about various things is provided with installed boards all around the Yellowstone National Park !!!Wooden walkways allow visitors to closely approach the Grand Prismatic Spring...The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States and also third largest in the world... next to those in New Zealand... It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin.The vivid colors in the spring are the result of pigmented bacteria in the microbial mats that grow around the edges of the mineral-rich water. The bacteria produce colors ranging from green to red...This place is no doubt very colorful but seems scary at times... Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. As it has very new features like 'back gear video in the front mirror'.

And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. The caldera is considered an active volcano. It has erupted with tremendous force several times in the last two million years. This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. Beehive Geyser Erupting !!!

Beehive Geyser is a geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park in the United States. 

This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Most of the places visited during this trip were really beautiful and we didn't want to come back to concrete cities !!!Now the question is whose idea it was to go to such an unheard place. Going to Yellow stone was my husband’s idea and my daughter studied about Rushmore mountains in her summer camp last year, so I was interested to go to that place that my baby knows about.We started at 8.30 am on 25th June 2011 from our house in Charlotte,NC. Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Most of the places visited during this trip were really beautiful and we didn't want to come back to concrete cities !!!Now the question is whose idea it was to go to such an unheard place. Going to Yellow stone was my husband’s idea and my daughter studied about Rushmore mountains in her summer camp last year, so I was interested to go to that place that my baby knows about.We started at 8.30 am on 25th June 2011 from our house in Charlotte,NC. Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Most of the places visited during this trip were really beautiful and we didn't want to come back to concrete cities !!!Now the question is whose idea it was to go to such an unheard place. Going to Yellow stone was my husband’s idea and my daughter studied about Rushmore mountains in her summer camp last year, so I was interested to go to that place that my baby knows about.We started at 8.30 am on 25th June 2011 from our house in Charlotte,NC. Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Most of the places visited during this trip were really beautiful and we didn't want to come back to concrete cities !!!Now the question is whose idea it was to go to such an unheard place. Going to Yellow stone was my husband’s idea and my daughter studied about Rushmore mountains in her summer camp last year, so I was interested to go to that place that my baby knows about.We started at 8.30 am on 25th June 2011 from our house in Charlotte,NC. Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Most of the places visited during this trip were really beautiful and we didn't want to come back to concrete cities !!!Now the question is whose idea it was to go to such an unheard place. Going to Yellow stone was my husband’s idea and my daughter studied about Rushmore mountains in her summer camp last year, so I was interested to go to that place that my baby knows about.We started at 8.30 am on 25th June 2011 from our house in Charlotte,NC. Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. This is my story of Rushmore mountains and yellow stone. Me, my husband and my 4 yr old daughter went for 9 day vacation to yellow stone and Rushmore mountains... Most of the places visited during this trip were really beautiful and we didn't want to come back to concrete cities !!!Now the question is whose idea it was to go to such an unheard place. Going to Yellow stone was my husband’s idea and my daughter studied about Rushmore mountains in her summer camp last year, so I was interested to go to that place that my baby knows about.We started at 8.30 am on 25th June 2011 from our house in Charlotte,NC. Reached airport at around 9. We had flight at 11 am from CLT to Dallas,TX. And then we had a flight @ 2.30 from Dallas to Rapid city,TX.The plane was very little. Looks like we were going to some village and when approaching to rapid city when I looked down from my window it was actually amazing as nothing was there . Not a single house, literally no population. It was all unused land. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. And when v reached at the Rapid city airport It was also an amazing experience as the airport was very small and didn’t look like an airport. But yes where ever you go in US some things will be very uniform. Like in most of the cities you’ll find the same stores.Then we rented a car it was Chevrolet Traverse. It was really nice experience to sit and drive that car. We slowly started moving from the airport to our Lodge. 'Blue Sky Lodge'. It took some time to get familiar with the car controls. It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin.The vivid colors in the spring are the result of pigmented bacteria in the microbial mats that grow around the edges of the mineral-rich water. The bacteria produce colors ranging from green to red...This place is no doubt very colorful but seems scary at times... Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
