On the first day of the Sariska trip, we enjoyed the palace with a lots of activities. However, a morning safari was already scheduled @700 Hrs next day. We had already listened to the story of Anindya and Chhaya who shared their experience of Jim Corbett where they saw the Tiger. So there were a lot of hopes of spotting a tiger.Some of us were terrified too when we listened to Chhaya about her experience. :)
We were all ready at the scheduled time and boarded on the safari. It was very cold outside. So we all loaded ourselves with jackets and pull overs (whatever we could find). Folks who carried camera, were setting up and getting ready. :)
We hired three safari jeeps. The right most of 'em was the most experienced one with more than 8 yrs of experience working in Sariska, Ranthambore, Jim Corbett etc.
During safari, there were few who were regretting coming out in that much cold weather. They were surely missing their cozy beds back at the palace. However, they made themselves comfortable at the back seat of jeep.
I realized that how difficult it is to get a clear shot of animals in wild life. Courtesy to them as they chose to pose for us. We started (and ended too) with the most common and easy to spot animals i.e. deers. A sambar deer looked at us while we were shooting.
This is the only clear click I could get of spotted deer. There were many of 'em but not as courteous as other animals to pose for us. :)
There were plenty of peacocks too. We stopped many times during the safari to listen to the signals and callings of the animals. Our driver also shared his experience of spotting tigers during the safari. He told us that there are only 4 tigers in the reserve. But after few days 15 more tigers were about to be brought here from Ranthambore.
After peacocks and deers what next you would spot in any park is monkeys obviously. :)
They were enjoying on the trees. Probably there were used to of seeing strangers. Here is a monkey caught in action. :)
Sun was rising and we were enjoying the chilled air in the morning. It was a real nice experience of safari in such a fresh and cold weather.
Here is a majestic appearance of Nilgai. While I was shooting, driver told us about the degree of strength it poses. We forced the driver to drive faster when we came to the knowledge. :)
While searching for any sign of tiger, we found foot marks of Hyena. Our driver shared the facts about how Hyena are very powerful and they come out in night.
This is a very famous bird. Let me see how many of you can guess the name of this bird. (... Yeah! you are right...I dont remember the name of this bird... ;))....but I think it is Robin bird.
There were a lot of Tree Pie birds flying around.
A more closer look at sambar deer. It was looking right at me while I clicked.
The deers were easy to spot in the forest. They could be found crossing the roads or passing by the road side.
We all were enjoying the safari ride. Puneet and I was standing on the jeep and were feeling the cold air and enjoying the jerky rides.
Finally we reached at the end of the route-2 of the park with no sign of tiger. :)
We took some time to stretch and roamed here and there at that point.
Prashant in a joyous mood as he is getting clicked. We both were chasing a parrot but couldn't get a clear shot.
We couldn't see the tiger but we were not fully disappointed. Probably it was the freshness of the air and the weather that we rarely get at our workplaces.
Ananya was happy as she found a bird feather while she was in search for another. :)
While our way back to palace, we also spotted Grey Partridge (titar) which reminded me of many titar-bater sayings in hindi. :)
We spotted many birds which we couldn't recognize. However, our driver who was a experienced one kept introducing us.
Finally, we were back at the palace. We all were hungry and tired due to more than 2.5 Hrs of safari ride.
We reached the palace at around 10.30 AM. We had our breakfast and left the palace for going back home. It was really a nice safari experience in Sariska with the team.
