This Month I had sent this set of 10 photographs with appropriate description for each and today got an email about next level at India Habitat Center. For the same, I would need your well wishes. Just check out this Photo Journey with all Photographs submitted in first round of the Photography Challenge.
Title - Take Off
It takes focus, strength and an unwavering belief in yourself to spread your wings and take that flight going as high as your spirit takes you. Once done, it is your accomplishment of a lifetime.
Title - Closer to GOD
A temple in the hills, simply because of the serene setting and the gentle tinkling of the prayer bells, can be, perhaps, the most enlighhtening sight to behold. Even though it was not possible to capture the rustling of tree leaves and the prayer bells in a photograph, I thought that the sight of this picturesque little temple in the lap of the surrounding hills, will help me capture and share the gentle spiritual burst that I felt within myself. I think I have never felt this close to God before.
Title - Comfort of a Camp !!!
After a tiring day of hiking and cycling in the cold mountains, the sight of a camping site is most welcome especially when there is a bonfire right in the middle of it. Nothing beats the pleasure of sleeping under a crystal clear night sky with thousands of twinkling stars. We spent hours sitting around the bonfire and counting the shooting stars. Towards the end just lost the count and drifted off to sleep.
Title - Complexity
Behind every order, there’s a chaos and behind every chaos, there’s order. You cannot see either until you observe things closely or under a spotlight. Even the simplest organism is much more complex than it appears. Life’s complexity can never be overestimated.
Title - Not all that is sinister is scary
Look at this fragile web of a spider with beads of dew. Even a gust of wind can annihilate all traces of it in a matter of few seconds. All of us know why a spider weaves a web. But if we didn’t, could we have ever been able to guess that such a beautiful work of art can actually be a death trap? Such are the mysteries of nature! Will we even be able to unravel the higher philosophies behind the creation of life?
Title - Nowhere
No place is out of its reach
Nothing can save you.
When you are working or even sleeping
It will hit you when you least expect.
The quitessential question
of existence, of purpose, of calling
spares no one.
And when the mind starts asking
where did I come from and where am I headed.
some pack their bags and head out
in search of answers
while others put their hands
on the back of their heads
and lie back, relaxed.
No place is out of its reach
Nothing can save you.
When you are working or even sleeping
It will hit you when you least expect.
The quitessential question
of existence, of purpose, of calling
spares no one.
And when the mind starts asking
where did I come from and where am I headed.
some pack their bags and head out
in search of answers
while others put their hands
on the back of their heads
and lie back, relaxed.
'I came from nowhere,
and nowhere am I headed.'
and nowhere am I headed.'
Title - Pigeon Studded Sky around JAMA MASJID
Surrounded by a hyperactive Delhi-6, the Jama Masjid compound is unbelievably serene. Only the pigeons lovingly fed in the compound can take this calm for granted and break it with one synchronized motion of spreading their wings and taking flight. The fluttering of their wings is like a symphony, a Sufi offering to allah, their protector.
Title - Perfection of TAj mirrored
Somethings are so beautiful that you should never look at them directly to guard them from the evil eye. Here is my camera, looking at the Taj Mahal’s reflection in the water hoping against hope that this imposing shrine of lovers always remains untarnished.
Title - All paths lead home
Wherever I may be in this world, prospering, starving, having fun, getting bored, there is always a feeling of being away from home. I am at that point where all paths lead home, to India. Some are long, some are short. Some are easy while some are very difficult. At this point, I am not sure whether I will take the long path or the short one, the easy one or the one full of struggles. But I am sure of one thing and that is that India is my home and that is where I am headed all the time.
Title - The Disruptive Questions
Why am I here? What is my purpose? What am I looking for? Why ain’t I happy?
In spite of our preoccupation with our mundane lives, all of us go through a phase when we start asking ourselves these questions. And after this, usually there’s no looking back. Even though we may wish to suppress these disruptive thoughts, they keep cropping up…until slowly, bit by bit, shapes start emerging from the blur. And then suddenly one day, the answers are revealed and we are left free to go ahead on our quest. Nothing remains the same after this revelation…
