Golden Gate Bridge tour during my recent visit to California (USA)

Last week, I was in San Jose for an official purpose and planned for a day trip to San Francisco with some office friends. During the visit, we spend most of the time around Golden Gate Bridge. This Photo Journey shares some of the photographs of Golden Gtae Bridge and places around it.Here is a view of Golden Gate Bridge from Presidio Golf Course. We drove to San Francisco from San Jose through Presidio Golf Course. Our first stop was Ocean beach and then stopped around Presidio Golf Course with some amazing views of Pacific Ocean and Golden Gate Bridge. Here is a view of Presidio Yacht Club from Hendrik Point & Battery Spencer. There is a wonderful view of Horseshoe Bay from Hendrik Point. The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean. As part of both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1, the structure links the city of San Francisco, on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, to Marin County. It is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California and the United States.Another view from Hendrik POint & Battery Spencer - Pacific Ocean, Angel Island, Presidio Yacht Club, Richardson Bay, Tuburon, San Rafael Bay, San Pablo Strait etc. Here is a view of Golden Gate Bridge from the end of Marine Drive Road, just below thw bridge. Torpedo Wharf is just in front of this pointAnother view of Golden Gate Bridge from same point. Here many of the surfers park their cars and enjoy surfing in pacific ocean. One of the friend photographer coming back after clicking some of the surfers under Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.Surfing community around Golden Gate Bridge @ San Francisco, CaliforniaHere is a view of San Francisco city through Torpedo Wharf. Photographer is clicked from the bottom of Golden Gate Bridge near Marine Drive Parking areaGolden Gate Bridge is a popular with pedestrians and bicyclists and was built with walkways on either side of the six vehicle traffic lanes. Initially, they were separated from the traffic lanes by only a metal curb, but railings between the walkways and the traffic lanes were added later on, primarily as a measure to prevent bicyclists from falling into the roadway. The color of the bridge is officially an orange vermillion called international orange. The color was selected by consulting architect Irving Morrow because it complements the natural surroundings and enhances the bridge's visibility in fog. Aesthetics was the foremost reason why the first design of Joseph Strauss was rejected. Upon re-submission of his bridge construction plan, he added details, such as lighting, to outline the bridge's cables and towers.Check out more about Golden Gate Bridge at - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Gate_Bridge
