Aerial View of Sanjauli Town near Shimla, Himachal Pradesh || Only Jakhu Tibba can promise such a spectacular view to surrounding hills & Valleys around Shimla
It was my 5-year sabbatical when I roaming around Kinnaur and Shimla region with my friends. It was time to explore some of the least known places including culturally rich villages in Himalayas. After a long drive we reached shimla and climbed to Jakhu Tibba, which is a dense forest on one of the highest hills around Shimla Town. This Photo Journey shares some of the aerial views of Sanjauli and other towns down in the valley.
The very first photograph of this Photo Journey shows a view of dense suburb of Shimla, which is known as Sanjauli . Sanjauli comes on the way as we move towards Kinnaur region of Himachal Pradesh. This route has most of the beautiful & main places to see in Himachal. There are various other places nearby Sanjauli... Cemetery road, HB colony, Bhatta Kuffar, Sanjay Van, Dhingu dhar, Shanan, Navbhar, Chaulanti.... Since Sanjauli is situated just below the Jakhu Hill, Jakhu Tibba offers these spectacular views of Sanjuali town. There is a tunnel in Sanjauli which was made by British government during that time when Shimla was capital of British India. Sanjauli has the very old and beautiful college. Navbhar is another interesting place around Sanjauli where St.Bede's College is located. Dhingu mata Temple is an intersting place in Sanjauli and there is a road to the temple. Sanjauli town has a long Market which is spread from Sanjauli Chowk to the Tunnel.
Sanjauli Chowk is well connected with Mall Road Shimla. There is a road near Sanjauli Chowk which connects with Ridge and Mall Road through lakkar bazar & IGMC. If you don't want to walk through this road, you can hire a cycle from one end to another and deposit it on second end. It is one of the awesome thing I like about Shimla. There are some places, where automobiles are not allowed, so either you walk or cycle. In fact, some roads are strictly for walking only.
Here I would like you to look at first photograph again and imagine how many tree would have been sacrificed to build these huge buildings. Shimla has also become a town like any other town in india, where real estate is taking priority over everything. In Himachal, Shimla is one of the main town which faces water related issues every year. Hope that going forward authorities take appropriate action to keep natural resources intact to avoid situations like Uttrakhand and Kinnaur.
