To decide between right and wrong a child needs judgment.
The distinction between right and wrong is what matters in life. Life teaches
you many things but what if you already know what is it you must do to set
things right. That advantage is guaranteed by visiting a bricks and cement
building housing well-educated and well-read people. But, if we look around us
do we really see that power in the generations to question themselves and take
the right decisions. I see degrees walking around me as I sit in a coffee shop,
the best in management, computers, medicine etc. But, I also see them smoking,
swearing, conspiring against fellow employees and elders.
Now, let’s not go in debate that smoking is good or bad –
Mythology says that, so do researchers, and so do the elderly. The subjective manner
in which problems are solved is fine with me and I respect the people who teach
us subjective behaviors, it’s a difficult thing to be immersed in immature
minds. We cannot exist without people who know the procedures and know them
well.
But, the extremism with which we are taught subjects makes
us incapable of taking decisions. The elders who fed us and gave us food,
shelter, and a piece of paper that guarantees the good life, did enough. But,
they along with the literals who craft which subject were read by my generation
never really understood that all I wanted to be was a traveler, an artist, a
fish tank cleaner instead of sitting in air conditioned offices that hurt my
nostrils. I am grateful to the universe and the whole existence for giving me a
life of cabs, food coupons, and quick cash. But, I am ungrateful to them for
not teaching me and my generation what is right and what is wrong. They didn’t
teach the man in control that when someone is pregnant, she is in pain and
cannot work properly – Can’t expect her to hurry up an elevator –Patience! They
never told the people in power that an individual is above all the goals that
the country, organizations, and teams. That, someone in his last-days, while
walking on a road trembles and needs time to cross. They never ever told the
new breed of road-rangers that when they act stupid (And I mean really stupid)
out of lust in public, the next generation emulates them.
By just being called a literate, I feel is being called
declared alive but not alive and kicking. I am not asking for too much, just
the next generation of DNA and the literate educators to strike a balance and
give the toddlers education, dreams, and above all values. Values will separate
our generation from the rest. The lethal combination of Values and Education
will help me take it to the next level and create the new world where we will
outsource and drive the research rather than keying in numbers and text that
doesn’t mean much to us.
