And if I compare this talk with last year's lecture by Dr Abdul Kalam. Last year's talk was very energetic and sounded more authentic.The 71 years old, looking handsome in a black formal suit, Mr Amitabh Bachhan reached the Thyagaraj Stadium and the sound of the audience`s applause took over the netball court at the facility and Big B, as humble as he is, responded by flashing a smile and folding his hands to gesture a ‘Namaste’. During the speech he touched upon his memories of his father, the late legendary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, whose birth anniversary happened to be just two days ago on Nov 27.Past lectures were delivered by eminent personalities like writer-journalist Thomas Friedman, diplomat-writer Chris Patten, economist Amartya Sen, historian Ramachandra Guha, the Dalai Lama and former Indian president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.Mr Amitabha Bachhan ended his lecture by reciting lines of his father's poem 'Khoon ki chhaap' (Imprints of blood). An applause followed again. After the lecture, Rajdeep Sardesai joined Mr Bachchan at the stage. I took the whole show in completely different direction and the event completely changed into another bollywood or publicity show. On top of that bollywood type questions are asked by audience except the few which were around the topic Mr Bachhan chose for the annual lecture. If I recall my memories from Dr Kalam's talk, it was seriously a very sensible dialogue between audience and the chief guest.Big B also sat down with TV host Rajdeep Sardesai and spoke about a range of things. Mr Bachhan also patiently answered some questions from the audience, for whom the icing on the cake was his recital of his father's most widely known work, 'Madhushala'.

Some of the Bachhan fans forgot that it was Penguin Annual Lecture and what all makes sense & what not. 

 With all due respect to Mr. Bachchan, I felt sad about my decision to come for the evening and take out 5 hours of my schedule. I hope that Penguin can manage something more substantial in their next year's annual lecture. We have high hopes from Penguin.

Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
