While in Goa, it's highly recommended to spend some part of the stay around Panjim City. Being in Panjim is a very different experience. There are some very interesting restaurants, pubs and shopping options with a very different enviornment all around. This Photo Journey shares some pictures from Panjim Town, along with some important details...

When we went for cruise on Mandovi River, we planned to have a round of Panjim city and have dinner there. We parked our car near the church across the river and started walking around the roads of Panjim town. After some shopping, we thought of finding a good place to dinner. It was not easy to decide because every other restaurant was unique and looked awesome. The very first criteria was to find a good place for sea-food, so all fancy restaurants offering Pizzas, baked stuff etc were out. There were some interesting bakeries as well, but we stopped ourselves to change the plan. After some time, we thought to call our car-owner from whom we had hired a Maruti WagonR for 4 days. We had only asked for the recommended restaurant but he suggested few interesting stores as well. Now first thing was solved for us, so we moved towards the recommended restaurant 'The Upper House', which was no doubt a great place to have food in Panjim. During the stay we visited three popular restaurants, but loved 'The Upper House' the most !

Panajim is capital city of Goa, which is one of the top tourist destinations in India. Panjim lies on the banks of the Mandovi River which is popular for it's cruise rides of different kinds. Panjim’s architecture clearly tells that it's quite different from other parts of the country. Goa has very different experiences and it's architecture tells unique story about the place. In the small old quarters of Fontainhas and Sao Tomé, winding alleyways are lined with Portuguese-style houses, boasting distinctive red-tiled roofs, wooden window shutters and rickety balconies decorated with bright pots of petunias. Here, whitewashed churches lurk down laneways, a short wander from technicolour Hindu temples.

Walking around these colorful streets of Panjim town is a very different experience and we recommend to spend some time around the town, especially in evening and then choose one of the popular restaurants or pubs to have a great evening.

I personally liked peaceful beaches, which was probably another reason I liked it the most in Monsoons.
