Exploring the flavors of Avocado with Chef Kunal Kapoor & blogger friends at New Zealand High Commission, Delhi (India)
(All the photographs shared in this post are clicked by Sangeeta Khanna and Arvind Khanna). After a long time, I stepped out for such event where I get to meet blogger friends. It was launch of New Zealand Avocados at New Zealand High Commission in Delhi. It was during late evening and a good opportunity to meet 2 of my favorite food blogger in India. Vibha was also excited to meet Chef Kunal Kapoor again. It was about the launch of New Zealand Avocado fruit in India. This Photo Journey shares more about this lovely evening and New Zealand Avocados.
We reached the venue in Chankyapuri before time (Thanks for to no traffic on roads, which was unexpected on Friday evening). Now we were waiting for Deeba and Sangeeta to join. Soon after we realized that they are already there and met my Photographer friends as well. Over the drinks we also got a chance to meet Chef Kunal Kapoor and Chef Saby.
Formally the evening was yet to start. We got some time to interact with each other. Talked about various things over drinks - Literature, Photography, Holidays, Food etc.. Also discussed some plans to do frequent get togethers and learn from each other. Hopefully we will be executing those plans soon :) . More guests were coming and event was about to start now. Chef Kunal Kapoor was ready with his open kitchen. Some Avocados were placed around the kitchen and chef was all set to try various Indian dishes with Avocado.
Celebrity Masterchef Kunal Kapur said “New Zealand Hass avocados are an amazing healthy and versatile wholefood that contain the good fats needed to maintain a healthy heart. They interestingly blend with everyday Indian meals and the soft buttery texture and nutty flavour goes really well with many traditional dishes such as Bhel Puri and Tawa Pulao. They also blend seamlessly with curries”.
Chef shared about the New Zealand Avocados and started making some Indian dishes. He invited folks from the audience and cooked few things with them. He started with Avocado Bhel Puri and then Avocado paranthas & kebabs etc.
There was a good range of snacks and desserts made up of Avocados. Most of them were quite interesting. I loved Avocado Sushi. With a quick round of these delicious preparations, it was time to quickly meet folks around and head back. After a long time, we really enjoyed the company of blogger friends and Avocado dishes cooked by celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor.
