This weekend, I was out with Le Meridien team for #TeaTrails experience and met Mr Laxman Rao, who sells tea outside Hindi Bhawan at ITO, delhi and author of 24 hindi books. It was a very inspiring experience to interact with Mr Rao and know about his journey. This Photo Journey shares about Mr Laxman Rao, how he moved from a small town of Maharashtra to Delhi and became an author.
The famous novelist Gulshan Nanda is one of the main inspirations for Mr Laxman Rao.
Mr Rao belongs to a small town in Maharashtra and came to Delhi many years back. During initial years, he worked at a shop in Delhi and then started his tea shop under a tree near Hindi Bhawan at ITO, Delhi. When he came to Delhi, he was 10th pass and now he has done MA in Hindi from Delhi university.
For last few years, he has been writing in Hindi. He has published 24 books so far. When he started writing, many publishers didn't even look at what he wrote. Now his books are sold on Flipkart, Amazon and Kindle. Apart from that he sells his books on his bicycle.
Laxman Rao starts his day at 6am with 5 newspapers (2 English, 2 Hindi and 1 Marathi) and spends his time with reading/writing till noon. Then he opens his tea-stall at 1pm till 8:30pm.
