Neha Mathur - An Inspiring Food Photographer/Blogger who believes that 'pleasure in job brings perfection in work'

In the last 8 years of blogging, I have come across some brilliant blogs that have inspired me in different ways. Over the years, I have observed some good work by Food Bloggers. In the past, I have talked about two inspiring Food Bloggers who are doing great work in Food Photography as well - Deeba and Sangeeta. Both of them have their own styles to present their creations. From these bloggers, I learned a lot and understood some fundamentals of photographing things.  Today I am sharing about another Food Blogger who has inspired me - Neha Mathur. Her photographs speak lot more than my commentary on this post. 

I have visited her blog multiple times, but things completely changed when I started following her on Instagram. More than the blogging world, I have recently been spending my time on Instagram and her profile is very inspiring. The way she styles her dishes, props, backgrounds, colors and the special attention she gives to each detail make her photographs standout in my Instagram feed.

Here is how Neha likes to introduce herself - "I believe in the adage 'pleasure in job brings perfection in work'. I love to eat what I cook and also look forward to serve it in a perfect way. I share my love for recipes and photos on my site www.whiskaffair.com  which has been loved by its readers. Right from childhood, I picked up on nuances of a foodie from my mom and dad and my lunch boxes in school were the most sought after. In search for my love for the food, I decided to give up my lucrative career in dentistry and get into recipes, styling and consulting with food brands. I have loved every moment of the journey so far. I love my cooking appliances, tools, camera and lens, cherish being a foodie & a food photographer and love to share my experiments & innovations with the dishes. In the past decade I’ve traveled across different continents picking up on cultural and food variations which I try in my kitchen. www.whiskaffair.com  has won prestigious awards and finds its mention  in the media regularly which I’m so thankful for."

Neha Mathur has worked with well-known food brands and start-ups for designing their menus, recipes, helping with food photography, and contributing articles and content.

These photographs are not only about food but they tell us a lot. For me, it's bit difficult to imagine myself clicking such great food photographs but there is lot to learn in terms of lighting, usage of appropriate background, how make your subjects look relevant & composed etc. 

How you relate to the subject is extremely important when it comes to photography and that's what you see in Neha's photographs. Her passion for food & photography is something which makes her different from others. And it's also important to know your strengths and adapt your own styles. 

Over a period of time, I realized that I can quickly identify images clicked by Neha without reading about the caption or source. Same is applicable to Deeba and Sangeeta, because each one of them has a unique style. They always do better job with every photograph created through  their own styling philosophies & kind of food they curate.
