Before I start sharing about the place, please accept my apologies for bad quality photographs on a Photography blog. This month we were in Kolkata for few days and it was a good opportunity to catch up with friends in the city. During 4 days of our stay in Kolkata, we visited different restaurants and pubs and found Mezzuna quite interesting and that's why thought of writing about this place here.
Place is in Forum Mall of Elgin area in Kolkata. Our local friend Roy chose this place and it was at walking distance from our place. While writing about this place that I clicked photographs of smoking room as compared to the bar and seating area :) .
Mezzuna has great ambiance. btw, you need to wait for few moments to get a table during evenings. Please be aware that they play loud music. Initially I found it irritating because we were there to chat with our friend, but after few drinks everything was fine. btw, they have great variety of mocktails and cocktails.
We ordered few starters with drinks and all of them were awesome, although quality of each dish is very small and costs are also bit high. With limited drinks and reasonable food, 3 of us ended up spending approximately 4600 Rs. This was definitely lot expensive than various good options around Park Street. A day before we had dinner at Moulin Rouge, which was quite reasonable.
Beer was still reasonable as compared to other drinks and snacks. Having said that food was very good. So if you are there for good food and beer, it's a great place. If you are more interested in whisky, vodka or other cocktails, I am sure you would find lot better places around Park Street (in terms of price) .
We had great time at Mezzuna and now that I know the place well, I would want to visit it again.
