This weekend I visited IGNCA for Delhi Photo Festival. As I reached I found plenty of cars parked outside the IGNCA compound. After finding a space for parking, we headed towards the entry gate and got to know that ‘Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav’ is also happening. After looking at the environment at IGNCA, I was not sure if it is good for Delhi Photo Festival or not. There were lot of folks all around and it was quite dusty.
When I entered into the area where Delhi Photo Festival is happening, I was super happy to see some familiar faces around. I met my photography guru Amitabha Bhattacharya and then Aditya Arya. Mr Aditya Arya, along with Malhar Dhruv, conducted a very interesting workshop on Vintage Photography processes. It was a 3 days workshop which ended on 1st Nov.
Before checking out the exhibits we moved to the Artist Talk hall. It was a talk by Naoya Hatakeyama. Delhi Festival has good talks during this week, so if you haven’t visited IGNCA for DPF, do check the schedule and plan to be there. Apart from these interesting talks, there are some great exhibits by photographers from different parts of the world.
First 2 editions of Delhi Photo Festival happened at India Habitat Center and now 3rd one is happening at Indira Gandhi National Center of Arts.
There are many exhibitions in the open as well as indoor. Vibha liked the exhibits about Kishore Parekh.
There was an exhibition called Indian Dog show and tommy was lying there in good neighborhood.
During one of the conversations, we chatted about photography work of S Paul and many of us miss his presence in such festivals. I knew little about the S Paul and would love to check out his work.
Raghu Rai was also roaming around his exhibits. There was a section where photographs clicked with mobile camera were being exhibited.
