Indian Museum was founded by the Asiatic Society of
Bengal in Kolkata (Calcutta). It was 1814 when Indian Museum took it's shape. The founder curator was Dr
Nathaniel Wallich who was a Danish botanist.
Indian Museum has six sections comprising 35 galleries of cultural and
scientific artifacts namely Art, Archaeology, Anthropology, Geology and Zoology.
