These days Bharat Rang Mahotsav is happening at National School of Drama in Delhi. This is a month long festival of Theatre where national and international plays happen in different languages. You hear big names of the industry to act in these plays and lot of bollywood actors with theatre background can be seen roaming around. This year Pankaj Kapoor also acted in one of the plays. This time, I couldn't manage to watch any play but found some time to go there in evening for Theatre Bazar and catch up with friends from NSD.
All photographs shared in this Photo Journey are clicked with #NoNonSense #Honor5x and all these are shots are taken at around 9pm in Theatre Bazar.
I find Theatre Bazar most exciting thing in Bharat Rang Mahotsav. It's very well planned space in NSD campus, where various food stalled are put. Throughout the day, you can find your favorite artists, friends from Theatre and bollywood celebrities here. A great place to network with like minded people and discuss the field of theatre.
Every year the setup of Theatre Bazar and decoration of the place is different and full of surprises.
I love the way ordinary things are used to decorate the place brilliantly - lanterns, Punjabi paranda, kites, broken furniture, trees etc.
Apart from food, there are stalls of books, musical instruments, lighting instruments and handicrafts which are usually seen in plays. Many of these things things can be bought for home decoration. This time I also saw stalls of paintings, bags, T-Shirts and other decorative stuff.
You would find Chhote Lal with his stall in Theatre Bazar and we never miss to have bhel-puri he makes.
This is seating area made around the huge tree near entry gate of National School of Drama. This time, there is a stage setup near this seating area where performances happen in evening.
If you watch Bollywood movies, I am sure that you would be able to recognize these 3 actors :)
If you are in Delhi and haven't yet visited Bharat Rang Mahotsav, check out NSD website and book your tickets to watch plays. If you don't have time for that, don't miss to take an evening round of Theatre Bazar.
