This weekend the summer queen of India got fresh snowfall and within few hours Shimla got this beautiful white cover all over. Like every year, this time as well Varun has shared these brilliant photographs from Shimla. Varun has been sharing sowfall photographs for last few years and all these images are very tempting to pack the bags & head towards Shimla. In 2013 I know bunch of followers of this blog, who planned a day trip to Shimla from Chandigarh. But they did a smart thing to head towards Chail instead moving towards the Shimla town.
Best time to enjoy snow is when the snowfall is happening. It's not too cold at that point of time and the snow texture is just brilliant. Gradually the snow starts settling and chilling winds start. Also snow get dirty except places where people don't usually visit or trees. Places like Chail and Kufri retain this snow for longer period of time, as compared to Shimla town.
Over the years, PWD processes have improved a lot. They get in action as soon as snowfall starts. In most of the cases, they are able to clear main roads unless snowfall is huge and don't stop for a very long time. It's relatively easier to remove fresh snow from roads as compared to settled snow.
