When in Pune, we planned to drive to Lavasa through hills and that's when we took a break around Temghar Lake of Maharashtra state. Somehow I had heard name of this lake and the mention of dam built over it. More than lake, there were lot of other things that inspired me to explore more and know about this locality of Mahrashtra state. And it was not only about this beautiful lake but also about surrounding villages & their lifestyle.
While driving through these beautiful hills around Temghar Lake, I love watching these folks sitting with nehru cap. The simplicity and the way they speak hindi. Humbleness and simplicity makes you feel that you need such people around you all the time. I don't want to get into emotional debate here, but these experiences of travel make you look at life from different perspective.
It was harvest season, so we saw lot of ox-carts on our way. Some were going to pick the crop and few were coming on other sided in loaded, & at times overloaded form.
This was one of the stops around Temghar lake. Few folks sit around the dam to sell fresh bhutta if it's the season. You can also expect good tea, lemonade and fruit salad. There is a beautiful water stream flowing through the dam. Lake is on the opposite side. And the steeper climb starts from this point. and after the climb you start seeing Lavasa on other side.
These brilliant colors make you feel like staying here forever. Weather is usually very pleasant in this part of the state.
