Market Square is definitely talked about when we talk about Krakow and Sukiennice is one of the main architecture in main square of Krakow. It's also known as Cloth Hall. It's just opposite to the St. Mary's Basilica and surrounded by the famous Planty Park of Krakow city in Poland. Supposedly this square is one of the largest squares in Europe.

Renaissance Sukiennice Cloth Hall is close to Planty Park. Actually Planty park surrounds this old part of the Krakow city and Market Square is easily accessible from various parts of Planty Park. Renaissance Sukiennice Cloth Hall is also pretty close to the railways station, so if you like this can be first place you would want to explore after getting down from the train. You can easily walk by following the GPS directions and you would cross Planty Park on the way.

The giant head you see in above photograph is one of the main attractions outside the cloth hall and you can imagine the size of this head by looking at people around it and comparing sizes. It's called Eros Bound, which is build by Igor Mitoraj.
Towards the outer side of the cloth hall, there are some museums and art galleries. Apart from that one could find some interesting places to eat and enjoy the meal with brilliant surroundings. More from European Diaries...
I noticed this hanging knife inside Renaissance Sukiennice Cloth Hall. There were some of these things all around the building and I am sure there must be some significance why this knife is hanging just close to the entry gate and one of the pillars.
One can see Town Hall Tower of Krakow Old Town from Cloth Hall, as you walk through it's beautiful galleries and restaurants around the main pillars of Renaissance Sukiennice Cloth Hall.
Cloth hall is exactly in the middle of Market Square of Krakow city in Poland. There is a museum in this building with the name - Sukiennice Museum. This Gallery holds the largest permanent exhibit of the 19th-century Polish paintings and sculptures, in four grand rooms of Cloth Hall. The majority of today’s collection at Sukiennice comprises gifts from collectors, artists and their families. It's a division of National Museum.
Notice these faces which were carved on the pillars of Renaissance Sukiennice Cloth Hall. I am not sure what the significance is and I wish I had accompanied any guide to know better about the place.
