While walking around the beautiful Old Town of Warsaw in Poland, we reached this beautiful part of the Old Down which has a beautiful water fountain surrounded by lush green lawns. This post takes you through this beautiful park of the Warsaw Old Town and shares about main things to do around Multimedia Water Fountain and some tips to make best of your walking experience around this part of the city.
Warsaw weather is usually very good during summers and that's the time one should visit the cities like Warsaw & Krakow in Poland. In winters, most of these places are covered with white layer of snow. It has it's fun elements but summer in Poland offer you brilliant range of colors all around. And I could appreciate the vibrance of the place as I climbed down from Old Town towards the water fountain.
As you see in above photograph, people visit the place while walking or on cycles. There are some Segway tour companies who take you to this part of the Warsaw City on Segway and the experience must be awesome. I tried to opt for one of the tours, but found them expensive so dropped the idea. I am sure, more research may lead to better and pocket friendly options as well. I was staying in Westin, so generally brochure offered at a 5-star are usually expensive so that also not a fair comparison.

Since we didn't plan to come here specifically, we couldn't watch the real show. Lot of local folks and tourists plan their visit to Multimedia Water Fountain Park to witness brilliant use of water, colors, music, timing and superb energy of the space. While we were walking around the place, fountains were working without music and lights, but sun was about to set and hues of that moments made the experience a little better for us.
People love hanging around this place and most of the seating places around the fountain were occupied. And upto an extent that I had to put efforts to find a place for clicking photograph with minimal distraction. Although you may find above photograph with more distraction and even irrelevant. This is certainly one of the hot place amongst couples to hang around, although there are many such places & parks in Warsaw city of Poland.

I tried to find out about the timings of Multimedia Water Fountain Park in Warsaw Old Town, but couldn't conclude exact details as different sources share varied details. There are options from where you can grab something to eat or drink. It's a cool place to hang around with light snacks or coffee. One can also chose to walk towards the riverside.
I visited the fountain during early evening on a weekday. Fountains were working but without lights & music. It seems the multi-media show happens during summer weekends, and one some special occasions in the city. There are some cool installations like above around this place and green lawns to sit & relax with your loved ones. Above photograph shows 2 cyclists taking a break on elevated lawn and enjoying their meal after a ride (probably). They were sitting at quite a high point and I was wondering if they rode the bikes to this point or hiked to this point by lifting the bikes on their shoulders. The second option sounds more reasonable.
Warsaw Old Town Fountain is surrounded by lush green lawns and elevated Old town walks on one side and road on the other side. River side is just across the road. Above photograph shows couples enjoying their evening and some of them were also drinking alcohol in public. I didn't read much if consuming alcohol in public is allowed in Warsaw or not. Some of my Polish friends also recommended to avoid such places when it starts getting dark and you see people drinking alcohol. It was more of a precautionary measure than a threat. Since it was my first visit, he wanted to ensure that I don't encounter a situation which in unpleasant and makes me worry about roaming around the city. I didn't encounter any such issue while walking around Warsaw and Krakow cities of Poland. Although I didn't spend much time in Krakow but walked around Warsaw city in odd hours as well.

While we are talking about precautions, it's important to be cautious when you are travelling with valuables especially in train journey. I have heard horror stories from known friends who visited different parts of Europe. I would attribute all this to the negligence or taking it too lightly to take care of your stuff. It's highly recommended to be careful, especially when travelling during late evenings or night time.
Above photograph shows a place where benches are placed for folks to sit around and enjoy the views of Old Town Fountain and the river on other side.
Here is a beautiful view of Warsaw Old Town Fountains from one of the adjacent elevated lands. This photograph clearly shows the shape of the water pond and all fountains are installed within this water tank. The place from where this photograph is clicked is close to some of the beautiful buildings of Warsaw Old Town. You can also see Vistula river on other side of the fountain area.
If you want to make best of this Fountain show in Old Town of Warsaw city, make sure you reach there on time and grab appropriate place to watch the show.
Here is a panoramic view of Multimedia Water Fountain Park in Warsaw Old Town. In this photograph you notice that not lot many people are sitting around the fountains but usually both sides of the both walking tracks around the fountains.
We loved walking around this place and wish to watch the musical show in future, if I visit there again.
