While in Warsaw for a week, I stayed in The Westin Hotel and this post shares about my experience of staying in this property and why do I feel that it's a good option or not. The Westin is certainly a known brand of luxury hotels who also have business hotels in different parts of the world. The very first Westin hotel I had seen was in Gurgaon and I loved it's interiors. Comparatively The Westin in Warsaw was as interesting at first glance, but let's explore more about it.
First of all, it's pretty big and in a high-rise building. The Westin, Warsaw is located in an area full of skyscrapers. And the lift in The Westin is designed in a such a way that surrounding roads and buildings are very well visible from it. Above photograph is clicked from the lift of The Westin Hotel in Warsaw.
Most of these luxury hotel brands which operate in Indian and other countries, there is huge difference in terms of hospitality and the luxury. In India, you get exceptional experience in most of the 5 star properties, which may not be the same when you go to US or Europe. Some fundamental difference starts as you check-in. It doesn't really matter to me but certainly seems odd when you are spoilt in your own country. E.g. - There would be no one to take your luggage from reception to the room. If you get such services outside India, you should consider it very special :).

At Westin, I felt it a little odd when some of the staff members were not able to speak well in English. There were 3 folks at the reception and when I asked something which is not standard narration for them, the guy standing at reception couldn't understand. He asked his colleague to talk to me and then I could get some answers in partial form. This was not a common phenomenon in the city. The reason could be that The Westin is mostly used by European travellers and not others. There are plenty of other hotels around and may be better choice for international travelers. Radisson is just across the street, but not sure how to compare these 2 hotels.
I don't think I need to go into details of quality rooms, service, cleanness as these things you expect perfectly in hotels like The Westin and these things were in place.
The business room allocated to me was very pretty and had some interesting views of the city from 15th floor. I had done the booking at The Westin for 10 days but due to some unfortunate situation, I had to come back on 2nd day. The hotel refused to pay back or offer some reward points, as the booking was done through Booking.com. While booking we don't think of such unexpected events. Although it was booked by my office, but still the amount of money these hotels charge, I should have been more cautious about choosing right platform and right kind of booking option.
One thing to notice is that Westin doesn't have a swimming pool. I know that's one of the important needs for many especially families traveling with kids.

Above selfie is clicked in the lift of The Westin Hotel. That was my best place to click city-scapes. This was also an attempt to click the city but during the night my reflection also became part of the photograph. I loved this accidental selfie now.

Breakfast time was my favorite at the hotel, as Westin offers great spread during the breakfast. Me and my friend used to spend good time at the restaurant while enjoying the breakfast :).
