Okhla Bird Sanctuary - Top place to visit & explore in Noida

I have been visiting Okhla Bird Sanctuary for quite some time but this time I went their after a long time and got to know lot of new things about the place and found it worth to write anther post. This post covers some of the important details like, where to park the car when visiting Okhla Bird Sanctuary because now cars are not allowed inside. Let's talk about how to reach Okhla Bird Santuary : 1. Metro : Now there is a close-by Metro station and the entry gate of Okhla Bird Sanctuary is at walkable distance. And the name of the metro station is very intuitive - Okhla Bird Sanctuary Metro Station which is in Noida. 2. Taxi : You can book any cab based taxi and thats convenient as finding parking is tricky unless you follow my tips in the section below. 3. Car drive : If you want to drive to Okhla Bird Sanctuary in your own car, you need to chose one of the gates of Okhla Bird Sanctuary. One entry gate is on road which connects Shani Temple with Okhla Bird Sanctuary. This road is on the left when you are exiting Noida & entering into Delhi. This left cut is close to the entry gate of Noida city. If you go to this gate, there is parking space around roads because this road ends at the gate of Okhla Bird Sanctuary. We checked online and timings for Sunday were mentioned - 9am-3pm. We confirmed from the ticket counter and there is no change in timing on Sundays.

Just after entering we see these huge water patches on our left with different types of colorful birds floating around. Birds were comparatively less in the month of march but definitely you see major chunk of the water covered with birds during the month of Jan.

There is entry ticket for Okhla Bird Sanctuary. 30 Rs per person and 500 Rs for camera. The entry ticket fee for foreigners is different.

One needs to walk a lot if you want to explore it well. Unlike Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, you won't find cycle rickshaws inside Okhla Bird Sanctuary.

There are 2 watch-towers inside Okhla Bird Sanctuary. One can climb up and can enjoy some brilliant views with birds flying around.

One must carry Binoculars to enjoy the visit and see these colorful birds. There are good amount of native birds and in winters one can see lot fo migratory birds flying around.

Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
