Khao San Road - One of the most happening Nightlife places in Bangkok

If I am in Bangkok for one night only, I will spend that night at Khao San Road given that I know about most of other hangout places in Bangkok during night. Certainly the preferences change as per the kind of things you want to in Bangkok city and that's why this blog-post helps in understanding why Khao San Road of Bangkok city is awesome place when we talk about Nightlife in capital city of Thailand.

Above photograph shows the very first thing I saw when I entered into the Khao San Road in Bangkok. Neither unusual not very special when we are talking about Thailand. Khao San is a special place where, all the surrounding streets are full of night bars with variety of live music and DJ setups. This place is alive throughout the night and the show goes on till 6-7am in morning. We chose our hotel near Khao San Road and when we landed in Bangkok, we took bus to reach our hotel and we had to walk a bit. It was 6:30am in the morning and we crossed through a street where lot of groups were enjoying beers. We were wondering who would prefer beer over coffee in the morning and later we realised that those guys were on the streets drinking whole night & soon they would head back to their hotels to relax a bit before another exciting night in Bangkok.

Some folks have tagged Khao San Road as World's wildest night party place and certainly it's crazy. Nightlife at Khao San Road exemplifies young crowd walking all around with beer or a bucket of cocktail and high on music playing all across the street.

There is nothing special around Khao San road during the day and there is huge contrast what you experience during the day vs night. It's mostly closed during the day or usual stuff being sold in shops. There is no point coming this side during the day and rather find other places in Bangkok to explore. Above photograph shows a crocodile on grill. That sounds crazy and Khao San Road offers many such crazy sights. And I would not like to kill all the surprises from this place by sharing each & everything that we witnessed during 2 nights spent around this street.

Cost of food around Khao San Road vs other places in Bangkok is certainly different, especially during the night. At the end, it comes to demand and supply and given number of people come here during night prices are bound to increase. Khao San has comparatively expensive food and difference varies accordingly to the place you chose to eat. Lot of the bars setup around the road don't serve great food and on top charge premium because you have seating. So it's your choice, how you want to spend time in Khao San road of Bangkok. If you try to look closely at above photograph, the road is covered by these shops and bars and that's what happens after 11pm in Khao San street.

Grabbing a drink from near-by 7-Eleven and then walking around Khao San streets can be a lot of fun. So grab few drinks, stroll around the streets to observe what all is going on at different parts of Khao San and when you start feeling tired grab a seat a place of your choice and enjoy rest of the night there.

Khao San road is also a great place for bar hopping although there are lesser places where you can enjoy variety of drinks. Most of these bars at Khao San road sell similar kind of drinks, so the differential factor for bar hopping can be food and music. Certainly you can't eat that much if you plan to be on the street for for more than 6 hours in a stretch.

Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
