Drive around Cartago City - Travel Guide for Old Capital City of Costa Rica

While we were on day tour from San Jose City of Costa Rica, our guide Manuel told us about another city called Cartago which used to capital city of Costa Rica. When I read more I got to know that Cartago is the capital of Cartago province and was the capital of Costa Rica from 1574 to 1824. This blog-post shares our experiences of Cartago town and some of the surprises it offered to us.

Cartago is the third largest city in Costa Rica which is located at 30 minutes drive from San Jose (depends upon traffic situation), as distance wise it's just 25 kilometres. The very first photograph of the post is not clicked inside the city but around Orosi valley which is very close to the city. Even the whole terrain from Cartago city to Irazu Volcano is very beautiful & full of agricultural landscapes all around. There are dozens of restaurants around Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and we chose one of those. There is good variety in terms of kind of restaurants, food and prices. We chose a moderate one which was serving full meal with drink at a nominal price. The one we chose was more popular amongst locals visiting Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and we preferred that over some of the fancier options mainly catering to tourists. Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
