The National Theatre of Costa Rica is country's national theatre which is located in the central section of San Jose - capital city of Costa Rica. There is very interesting history associated with National Theatre from it's construction to getting open for public & some of the popular artists performing in this theatre.
The National Theatre stood as a cultural asset of the country during a time when coffee exports were a source of its success. It presents high quality performances, with artistic criteria being very high and provides excellent opportunities to artists from Costa Rica as well as other countries as interests align.
Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica building is certainly one of the finest historic building in the capital city of Costa Rica and it is known for its exquisite interior which includes its lavish furnishings. We couldn't go inside as it was a holiday when we went there and on some of the other days we were driving outside of San Jose City to explore other places of Costa Rica. We planned a visit during one of the other days in city but it rained a lot and we had to stay back in our hotel instead of stepping out.

If you noticed in photographs Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica looks equally beautiful during night with special lighting. One important thing to note is that there is an open area around Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica, where you can find some performers performing during the evening if it's not raining. It's a nice place to sit for some time and soak in the vibrance of Costa Rican capital city San Jose.
