There are four beaches around Papagayo Peninsula, Virador, Prieta, Nacoscolo and Blanca. Playa Veridor faces northwest and is more windy than the beaches on the southwest sides of the peninsula, so there are more waves. There are hardly any waves on Playa Nacoscolo.

There is an interesting fact about beaches in Costa Rica that there is no concept of private beaches in Costa Rica, so every beachside is open for Costa Rican people. Anyone can come to Virador beach although it's very close to Four Seasons resort in Papagayo Peninsula. Veridor beach is about a 15-20 minute walk of approximately 950 stairs. If you are not sure about your fitness level, don't make this trip, but there are benches to sit on along the way to catch your breath.
