Wat Lokayasutharam, Ayutthaya - Know why this huge Reclining Buddha is so popular in Temple Town of Thailand

Recently we have been sharing about beautiful temples of Ayutthaya which is UNESCO World Heritage city in Thailand with hundreds of temples spread across the town. Today we shall share about another wonderful place which is in open space. It's a wonderful & huge state of reclining Buddha. This place is little away from Wat Phra Mahathat. It's a lot of walk, which we did but for going back we wanted to have a tuktuk. This is 4th largest reclining Buddha statue in Thailand. The temple encasing the Buddha was destroyed by the Burmese during the war in 1767. While the statue might appear as stone painted but it is actually brick and plaster only like most of the Ayutthya buildings. One of the other things worth noticing is that there is a lotus on which Buddha's head is resting. There are small shops in front of this huge Reclining Buddha in Ayutthaya and there are restrooms for tourists. This reclining Buddha is not bigger than what you see in Wat Pho of Bangkok. There are some ruins nearby this grand Reclining Buddha in Ayutthaya town of Thailand. This place is relatively quiet and that makes it a place to unwind and just enjoy the atmosphere/peace. Reclining Buddha in Ayutthaya is a free place to visit. There are less places in Ayutthaya where you are not supposed to pay anything and this is one of them. We spent around 10-15 minutes around this place and then started walking back.

Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
