Bhadra Fort - An Architectural marvel in Walled City of Ahmedabad, Gujarat & a hidden gem in the town

While walking around Walled city of Ahmedabad, we can across Bhadra Fort looks pretty small from outside in current time and you would find lot of hustle bustle around it due to Bhadra temple which is close by. Bhadra Fort is situated in the walled city area of Ahmedabad, India which is relatively older part of Ahmedabad City of Gujrat. Bhadra fort was built by Ahmad Shah I in 14th century. With its well carved royal palaces, mosques, gates and open spaces, it was renovated in 2014 by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as a cultural centre for the city. When we were visiting Gujrat during Navratri time, this fort was closed because there were Garba evenings planned in front of the main gate and there were good number of changing rooms inside the Bhadra Fort of Ahmedabad.

Above photograph is showing elephant outside Bhadra Fort, but it's not because of the fort but Bhadra Temple. Locals believe in feeding elephant and crossing under it. This is considered auspicious. We noticed 2 fruit vendor kiosks close-by who were making good amount of money because of this elephant standing outside the temple. Looked like a good way to create some cash flow and I would not be surprised if these vendors keep the elephant man happy to ensure that he comes to this temple regularly.

Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
