Hotel Vandana in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh || Comfortable parking and clean stay in a crowded, bustling city
After one of the most adventurous / challenging days of our 14-days-long road trip from Noida to Rameshwaram and back via Eastern Ghats, we were looking forward to getting a good night's rest. We had had an interesting day in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. And toward the end of the day we were in a dilemma - should we head out and search for a hotel on the highway or head back into the city and search for something within the city?
So we decided to consult some locals. They advised that we should not try to search for a hotel on the highway as we are not likely to find any suitable options. This also matched with our Google research. They also pointed us to the exact hotel that we should check out because of its proximity to the highway and the condition of the hotel. We decided to check that hotel out and it matched our criteria. It was in the Gujarati Market. It was hotel Vandana, which was not only a clean and nice hotel, it also had very convenient parking right in the front. We checked in and then went for some Gujarati Namkeen shopping.
You might think that it is strange that there would be a Gujarati Market in Sagar, which is so far away from Gujarat. But the place seemed quite at home in Sagar.
Also, right in front of the hotel was a shop selling tea and black-colored Mawa Kachoris. We had skipped dinner, so thought it okay to round up our day with one Jalebi and chai each.
The hotel in itself was good in terms of ambience, cleanliness and comfort. It definitely provided us the rest that we were desperately looking for. The day had not been physically tiring, but mentally we felt exhausted. We would definitely like to thank the locals who directed us to this hotel and also recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in Sagar.
